Pages Circles — now forming across Zambia

Pages Circles

A home for Zambia's reading communities.

Pages Circles is being created to help readers discover book clubs—and to help independent book clubs become more visible, connected, and supported.

Where readers find their people—and book clubs find greater reach.

Why Pages Circles

Book clubs are already building Zambia's reading culture.

Across Zambia, readers are already gathering in living rooms, cafés, workplaces, campuses, libraries, online groups, and community spaces. They are choosing books together, exchanging ideas, and keeping reading alive through conversation.

Pages Circles begins by recognising that work.

We are creating a place where readers can discover these communities, and where book clubs can share who they are, what they read, and how interested readers can connect with them.

Every club remains fully independent. Pages exists to amplify the work book clubs are already doing—not to replace, absorb, or control their communities.

For readers

Find your circle.

Pages Circles will make it easier to discover reading communities by city, interest, meeting style, and membership availability.

  • Browse by city or town
  • Explore different genres and interests
  • Find in-person, online, and hybrid clubs
  • See which communities are welcoming new members
Directory Now Forming

The directory is still being developed. This link opens a preview of what it will become.

For organisers

Help shape what comes next.

Introduce your book club, tell us what your community needs, and help Pages build something genuinely useful for club organisers and readers.

  • Share your club's story
  • Tell us what support would help
  • Be considered for the founding directory
  • Contribute ideas while Pages Circles takes shape

What we are building towards

More than a directory.

A public listing is only the beginning. Pages Circles is being designed around the practical needs of reading communities.

Be discovered

Create a public club profile that helps interested readers understand your community and request to connect.

Amplify your community

Share reading selections, gatherings, events, and stories through Pages and the Saturday Letter.

Find books more easily

Let Pages explore ways to source affordable copies, pre-loved titles, and book-club reading bundles.

Connect and grow

Discover venues, resources, authors, organisers, and opportunities across the wider reading community.

These services are being developed. The first participating clubs will help Pages decide what should be built first.

Founding Circles

Help us build Pages Circles from the beginning.

The first book clubs to introduce themselves will help shape what Pages Circles becomes. We are inviting organisers across Zambia to share their communities, their challenges, and the kinds of support that would make running a book club easier.

Founding Circles will be considered for:

  • A complimentary club profile when the directory launches
  • Early visibility through Pages
  • Opportunities to contribute ideas and feedback
  • Priority consideration for Pages features and collaborations
  • Invitations to future literary gatherings and conversations

There is no fee and no exclusivity requirement to become a Founding Circle.

The directory

A clearer way to discover reading communities.

The Pages Circles directory will eventually allow readers to explore independent book clubs according to where they are, what they enjoy reading, and how they prefer to gather.

Introduce your book club

Tell us about your reading community.

You do not need to have everything figured out. Share what you can, and help us understand the community you have already built.

About the club

Please share only a general neighbourhood, venue type, or area. Do not enter a private home address.

What brings the group together, and what kind of reading community have you created?

What does your club enjoy reading?
How does the club usually meet?
Membership
Who is the club primarily for?

This information helps readers understand the community. It will not be used to override the club's membership decisions.

Organiser contact

Please provide at least one way for the Pages team to contact you. These details will not automatically appear publicly.

What the club needs
What is currently the most difficult part of running or growing your book club?

There is no wrong answer. Your response will help us decide what Pages Circles should build first.

Permissions

Privacy and trust

Your community remains yours.

Pages will never publicly display a private WhatsApp group link, a member list, a private meeting address, or an organiser's personal contact details without permission.

Club organisers will remain in control of how prospective members contact them and what information appears on any future public profile.

Introducing your club does not transfer ownership, control, or administration of your community to Pages.

Reading communities already exist. We want to help more people find them.

If you organise, lead, or belong to a book club, introduce us to your community and help shape the next chapter of Pages Circles.
