A Simple Belief
Pages began with a simple belief: books should have a larger place in the everyday life of Zambia.
They should be easier to find, easier to afford, and easier to pass from one reader to the next.
Because a book is never only an object. It can be a doorway into another life, a difficult question, or a new language for something we have always felt.

The Distance Between Books and Readers
And yet, the distance between a good book and its next reader can be surprisingly wide.
Books can be expensive. Bookshops can feel far away. Meanwhile, shelves across the country hold stories that have already been loved and are ready to be read again.
Pages was created to shorten that distance.

A Bookstore Without Walls
So we began in Lusaka without waiting for a traditional shop.
Pages became an online bookstore for thoughtfully selected pre-loved books: simple to browse, straightforward to buy, and collected through places people already know.
No endless aisles. No need for a branch on every street. Just good books moving towards new readers.

One Bookstore. Many Doors.
We call Pages the invisible bookstore.
Not because it is hidden, but because it can appear wherever access is needed.
A workplace, café, campus, neighbourhood space or trusted partner can become a doorway into the same Pages bookstore.
We do not need to build a branch everywhere. We can build a network instead.
One bookstore. Many doors. And, over time, the country itself becomes the bookstore.

The Story Is Still Being Written
Books are where Pages begins, not where it ends.
Through Pages Circles and the wider world growing around the bookstore, we want book clubs to be easier to discover, readers to find one another, and thoughtful conversations to continue beyond the final page.
Every book bought, shared, discussed, or placed into another pair of hands helps write the next chapter.
And that means the story of Pages belongs, in part, to you.
